An island girl comes to Athens and ends up as a singer in a cabaret. There she meets a sailor called Vasos. Her nostalgia for her island and Dimitris, a young man who loves her and waits for her to return, cannot be extinguished by the city's temptations. When Marina returns to the island, she marries Dimitris and has a child with him.
